What We Do

NDIS

‘My Future My Way’ is a registered provider of supports through the NDIA, Provider Number 4050002483.
The arrival of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) presents an exciting opportunity for participants to choose what support they receive and how it’s delivered. The NDIS aims to change the way people with a disability, their families and carers are supported in Australia.
‘My Future My Way’ delivers quality and value for money solutions through a range of individualised services. Change can be scary, and the NDIS is a big change, aimed at significantly enriching the lives of people with disability in Australia. Being prepared is the key to a successful planning process. Walking into your planning session with the NDIA planner with a good sense of your goals, will assist with ensuring that the plan.

Daily Personal Activities

Development of daily living and life skills
‘My Future My Way’ provides assistance with daily living and life skills; this includes training and development activities undertaken by the participant or their carer to increase the ability to live as autonomously as possible.
Training can be provided either individually or through group activities and can include independent living, communication and social skills and problem solving.Our skilled team of professionals understand and value the role and contribution of parents and significant others in the life of the participant. We work with and walk alongside families providing parent education to build resilience.

Assistance with daily personal activities
‘My Future My Way’ provides assistance with daily personal activities; Assisting with and/or supervising personal tasks of daily life to develop skills of the participant to live as autonomously as possible. This support is provided individually to participant and may be provided in a range of environments such as home or community or other relevant setting.

Community Participation

Participation in community, social and civic activities
‘My Future My Way’ provides assistance to access and to participate in community, social and civic activities by developing and enhancing a participant’s skills and providing support during these activities. Our support staff hold a minimum of Certificate III in Disability or equivalent and undergo thorough induction and orientation.


Therapeutic support

Gain skills and improve independence
‘My Future My Way’ provides individual Emotional Regulation Therapy, Trauma Therapy, which includes Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. Sensorimotor Psychotherapy draws from somatic therapies, neuroscience, attachment theory, and cognitive approaches, as well as from the Hakomi method. We work with participants to facilitate knowledge, emotional acceptance and growth and the optimal development of personal resources. This assists participants gain greater insight into their lives and reach their personal goals.
‘My Future My Way’ provides Secialist Behaviour Support to facilitate contribution to the understanding of a person's behaviour and design of person specific strategies to assist a person to achieve their goals.
‘My Future My Way’ works with participants using positive behaviour support strategies that aim at limiting the likelihood of behaviours of concern developing and /or increasing, providing assistance to the participant, their family and support persons.

Therapeutic Respite

My Future My Way’s Carolyn respite home is a beautiful home in picturesque Athelstone and provides respite services for adults and children from the age of 8. Adult and children services are not provided con-currently.
‘My Future My Way’ is committed to a therapeutic model of support, which enhances the development of participants in a way that meets their needs and nurtures growth. Skills development program is a focal point of service delivery and will be implemented in conjunction with the participant and their family.
The Respite facility provides support to three participants at any given time with a minimum of one staff at all times. The staffing ratio is tailored to meet the need of specific individuals. Respite is designed to support individuals that are ambulant and with mild to moderate support needs, and it offers a safe and secure living arrangements with the opportunity to develop skills within a therapeutic model of support.
